Grandparents Day PopUp Cards Kia Ora Room 5 Family and Friends We had such a great day last week, and I can honestly say it really cool to have a chat with every special visitor (I hope I caught all of them...), there really is so much to gain from our elders.  Also talking with grandparents it was interesting to hear how interesting the classroom now is, compared to what sounds like their stark experience?   For myself I would be in the middle with my experience of school compared to the older generation and the current children, so I really enjoyed the conversations thank you all. We thought we would try something different and so we made some Pop-Up Invitation Cards. Here are some pictures. If you double click a picture it should bring all pictures up in a viewer.

Rest and Recreation on a Friday Kia Ora Parents and Caregivers If the class do anything exceptionally well as a group, the can earn minutes.  For example over a week the class might earn 20 minutes over a week.  We utilise them as Discovery minutes. Which is a great chance to try different gear from the PE shed, play some new games, socialise, wind down, and for myself to build positive relationships and get to know your child in more than just the parameters of the classroom. This time also provides an opportunity for children to practise concepts from the theory of Discovery Learning,  such as; communication, negotiation, creativity, game and rules creation, and social participation. Here are some pictures of what we did last week,  (If you double click a picture it should bring all pictures up in a viewer).
